this place may talk a big game but they don't have any big game. this place is a joke. if there are any serious hunters out there dont bother because all you'll get is a face full of motocross exhuast. they have 8000 acres supposedly and over 100 miles of trails.you do the math.lets just say all these people care about is the money from the motocross. it used to be a hunting club and they almost went broke and now they pack in over 700-800 riders a day at $25.00 a rider. dont expect the the quiet and sirene hunting club experience because it aint there. expect MOTOCROSS NOISE from sun up to sun down and an incredible amount of dirt all over your stuff. if your into motocross it's great but i'm not so i'm out. i wont go back next year. plus no big deer killed all year i have checked the cooler and asked around.the motocross ran them all off. from what i understand it gets worse each year.

Durhamtown experienced our Best Buck Harvest in 14 yrs last deer season our largest buck last year was taken approx 500 yrds from the lodge by a rider/member of 7 yrs
the year before we took a 162 class buck from an atv trail 10 minutes after the atvs went thru the quality and sucess of our hunts also has alot of to do with the quality of our hunters many hunters chose to harvest the 1st buck they see and not wait for the larger ones to come out we harvested 2 nice 17.5 in spread buck 2 weeks ago another 10 pt taken this saturday during the harescramble another 10 pt taken 2 weekends ago as well thanks mike owner durhamtown |

by the way we have hunting only on 4000 acres

JJK, you couldn't be further from the truth. You say a hunter at the cooler told you motorcross had run all of the deer off!!! This is such an obvious lie it's not even funny. That cooler has been full of deer every weekend since the season began. You need to find something better to do with your time than make up this kind of garbage.

yankeerider i'm not making up anything. read the post below.from what i read theres been "4" deer killed all season that amount to anything and i said "big" deer at the cooler not "any" deer at the cooler. i didn't mean to ruffle feathers but when were talking about 4000 acres of hunting only property coupled with i don't know how many hunters and "4" deer that are all that are being mentioned that doesn't exaclty add up to stellar year/rut if you know what i mean. i assure you my time is well spent and i am not spreading garbage. this is what i have "seen" and this board confirms that the "big buck" harvest just ain't happening this year. again i didn't mean to ruffle any feathers but it is what it is.

Also, some people might not wait for the big buck to come in and shoot littles ones which could account for some of it as one post i read had mentioned but when you go to the forum page and there's 2126 posts for dirt bikes and atv's and 15 for hunters it shows you what direction their business model is going and thats fine it's just not for me thats all. you have to go where the money is i guess.

As you stated in your post, "it's not for you". I bet it is exactly what some people are looking for. A place where you can ride BMX tracks, skateboard park, several different MX tracks and 100 miles of trails, shoot skeet and hunt, or just relax and go fishing, shoot a game of pool, make some new friends, get a great meal, and good deals on everything you might need. Sounds like a cool spot to me. Who knows if there is a huge buck hiding in the woods, or a record bass in the pond, I bet they are there.....It would take a great hunter or fisherman to find them......I do not know of any other place where you can do all those things, but I bet there are alot of places you can hunt.

Let's see, approx 20 new food plots & stands (large enough for 2), sounds like the right direction to me. A buddy of mine shot a 10 pointer last friday at 5:15 in the riding area. Not more than 20 minutes after a group of 4 wheelers rode by, looks to me like the deer aren't phased by the noise. Maybe they have become accustomed to it???? You see deer along side the highway all the time with 100's of cars going by, those deer don't seem to mind. None of the hunters in the area seem to mind the noise. Durhamtown is the ultimate riding, hunting family fun place. If you can't find the deer I have heard of some places in Texas where they raise them right there for you & I'm sure when you're ready they'll let them loose so they can run right in front of you. That may be the direction you're looking for. If you don't like the place then leave but there's no reason to get on this forum & spread a bunch of junk that unknowing people might read & believe. Where did you get dirt all over your stuff? Maybe you hunted on the motorcross track? That could be why you haven't seen anything.

JJK, now you have shown your true colors. Congratulations. You have contradicted yourself more times than I care to mention. What did you expect? The noise from the bikes would magically be drown out? The deer are out there, I ride that whole place & see them on almost every ride. Like I said before, if you don't like the place then leave, but don't get on here & lie to people. That just shows your ignorance & don't get me wrong, you have every right to show everyone how ignorant you are, but usually people are smart enough to hide that flaw in their personality.
