We (family & I) have been coming to DP for 6 years now, we have seen you guys grow tremendously, and we were there to support when all the news hassle
was going on, my dad drove 2 hours to stand in the court room and support you. I am a little disappointed in the maintenance of all of the trails, tracks, etc.
I see all these forums stating that everything is up to par, when we come just about every other weekend and I have to say that this past weekend all of the
trails (except I) were a beat down mess. Surely with the price increase you could get out there and till some of that hard packed dirt to make the trails
enjoyable again. Just running over them with a bobcat only packs it more. Also, I have to say that my husband as well as my little brother have started this
race circuit and at the last race in March, there were promises that the SX track would be groomed on a regular basis. There were several accidents at this
race (more than normal) and I strongly believe that it was due to the hard packed mess. Watering it helped for a sec but if I could make a suggestion, mulch
some of the trees on your property, stir up the track, water it, and keep it maintained and those wood chips will help to retain water. Surely you know this,
and I definitely am not a track professional, but I have been around several tracks (husband races ALOT) and never seen one this bad. I think it would be very
beneficial to you all and make it more enjoyable for the racers. One more thing and I will stop 
Trail N.......my mother and I were riding on this trail, we
passed some small children and there father, when we got a little farther down, there was a huge rutted out dip that we had a VERY hard time getting across (
mind you we are both very experienced riders) I think there should have been a sign stating this because I am pretty sure that the father with the small kids
never made it across. It was a surprise because the rest of trail was great then you just all of the sudden come up on this huge rut. Oh, one more thing. I
think you should have quite a few more flag guys on the track for quicker response time to accidents during the races. We will still be coming as we have for
the last 6 years, just thought since we are valued customers that our topic would be appreciated and taken into consideration. Thank you for the time and
efforts of the WHOLE staff.

i have to agree with pinkrider78. the tracks are the main reason me and my brothers come to durhamtown. i started coming this past april of 2007 and i have
come at least once a month since then. we live 3 hours away. ever since the first time i have come i have never seen any of the tracks grommed. we love to ride
track #3 which is now #4 and we also love to ride the big track behind the parking lot. i have yet to see the track conditions get any better. you would figure
with the recent prince increase more would be getting done to maintain the tarcks and trails. also the bathhouse conditions. when we were up there in the
colder months we would try to take a shower and the water would continiously go from ice cold to scalding hot. it would never maintain temperature. some things
i can overlook but when you are going to charge a premium price you need to beable to provide nicer conditions back to the customers. i not complaining about
everything because i will still come back to dp as i always do i would just like to see some improvements in the coditions of the place.

Riding is a privelege not a right. Mike has alot on his plate and the rate increase Is a just move considering the overhead at DP. I feel your pain about the
drive, I drive almost 4 hours everytime one way everytime I come there. Consider this, employees, machinery, maitenence, insurance (which Im sure is
astronimical), inventory, rentals, gas alone for the machinery would be enough to drive any man insane, cabin up keep, signage etc, etc, etc. I ride the tracks
as well as trails, I also know that I ride a dirt bike and to me off road ridng means off road riding. Preferably I like woods riding (single track) which
means youre out there and basically deal with the terrain. I have ridden all over the palce and feel there is nothing that can compare to DP. Once again, its
my personal opinion. So blast away if you feel free to. I know that they do everything in their power to make DP a safe and fun place for everyone, heck if I
could find a way to move there I would. I drove up friday night this past weekend to ride 60 miles of trails and track all together on the odometer just to
leave and come back home saturday night. As for the tracks, I can attest to because I have my own in my backyard, CLAY with out water (rain) is gonna get hard.
But, you deal with it, that is why we have knobbies and not street tires. Just be thankful enought that there is a place we can go ride and have fun, because
legislators everywhere are doing everything in their power to take away our PRIVELEGE.

Hubby and I visited last week with 3 other people. We're trail people. Two of our guests are track people. I'm finding that track people are very
particular about their tracks and bikes and gear... and everyone seems to have suggestions on how they would do it
Our track riders found the jumps a little on the small side for their tastes and weren't too keen on the hard packed stuff but that did not keep them from riding around and around and around for 3 days. They did find the Redlands a bit challenging which was fun to watch. We're accustomed to riding in the sand so the hard packed clay is different for us. Like SCTank says...it's clay. We did find some fun trails that were easier on the kidneys. All said and done...we all left with big smiles...a little road rash...but big, tired smiles. |

privilege to ride as well. I was not saying that or "blasting away" I understand that Mike is a busy man, but let me tell you from going there
for 6 years, the place was kept up much better before when he was not making as much money. Therefore with all of the business that is coming in to this GREAT
place (no sarcasm intended) it's hard for me to believe that this is an outrageous/ impossible request. My husband and I, being business owners,
understand the entities that it takes to run a business. Mike in my opinion has done a WONDERFUL job, but seriously I know that there is alot of property to up
keep and that it is "clay" but I have lived here my WHOLE life in Georgia and let me tell you clay can be maintained with the right equipment. There
are several tracks in Georgia as well as trails that are of the same make. Aeonia Pass, Monroe, Bremen, etc. But they keep them turned, watered and wood
chiped. Personally I don't mind all of the trails/tracks, but I do believe that the SX track that gets raced on needs to be maintained at least a week
before races start. Everyone has an opinion, I am just stating mine. Off road is off road to me too that is why I ride, but when it is like a third world
countries roads...with pot holes and everything else, there needs to be a little bit of improvement. You do deal with the terrain as it comes, and it is a safe
place to ride. It could be a lot safer though with a LITTLE bit of attention. I would actually like to hear from Mike, I am sure he is a man with a plan and I
would love to hear from him. I know he cares about is customers. I will be back there next race weekend to ride trails and all....bet your @**!!

OK,I have to jump in on this as well! First let me say we too have been around DP since its start.We were also at the court house that day when we all thought
dp was going down. And would do it all over.We have two boys that are into raceing bigtime and we race all over the south east this weekend is the ponca city
qualifrer at sand mountain mx in alabama.We come to DP to take a break from all the stress that goes along with raceing at this level. DP was never meant to be
a strictly a moto cross racing park and therefore the tracks may not get worked as often as say bremen or any of the other mx tracks.BUT. having said that the
sx track was in need of work badly and I as well think some of the bad spills were because of condition of the track.
When I walked down to the super cross track I almost pulled our little one(not so little anymore) out because it was so dusty.I know the wind was blowing and that makes it harder to keep it damp but it can be done.I also know that we are talking GA. red clay and it does pack down but that can be handed as well.It is one thing for some "D" riders out playing but another for some of the fast guys that rode sunday. I think that mike knows what need's to be done and hope he had all the intensions of doing it,but just got caught off guard. The pee wee track could not have been any better! Now I am in no way bashing DP as we are invovld in a riding park as well and know first hand what it takes to run one.I truly think next month the track will be better! As far as the prices,I dont see how mike went as long as he did without a increase,I dont think the prices he is asking for are out of line at all! Any way thats my two cents and take it for what you will! |

Yea,I I need to jump on this too!! I have been going there since the only parking was across the street from the lodge, 1 mx track and a few miles of trails. I
was there last thur. and the hole place was like riding on a cheese grader, EVERY WHERE!! tracks ,trails you name it,it sucked. I know riding is a danger,but
you try to limit the odds,having rain rutts and pot holes on the face & landings of 25 ft table tops is just unacceptable!! SC tank,if you think this is
the best place to ride, then you must have taken one over the berm! Yea, I have kobbies on my tires when I get there, but they are gone when I leave, big $$
to me!! When I flatten a tire because I landed on a rock that was on the face of the landing, not safe!! We ride all over, BIG CEADER, PELL CITY, AONIA
,MOTORCROSS COUNTY CLUB ,MONROE MX,all have tilled up tracks,why not D.P. You till it up,and when it brings up the big rocks,you ride around on a 4 wheeler
and pick them up, it is called TRACK MAINTANCE. I do not think track 5 has ever been tilled & the whoops section is a joke. It is more like riding a trail
with a couple of jumps on it.The old woods track, now #4 has always needed to be redone ,but I guess they were working on{ kenny hills} that I never see anyone
riding. I am not looking for a smooth ,easy place to ride, just a safe place. I go there and accept it is what it is, but not for long after last thur ride. I
do not belive the track behind the parking lot has ever been tilled up or much work done on that one,quit riding that one a long time ago. I do not care about
the price,charge what you want,but please provide a some what safe place to ride.

It's not about the money for alot of people, we all want a safe place to ride and get what we are paying for. If i wanted to ride old beat down trails
and tracks there are plenty of ORV parks and tracks in Georgia to ride that don't cost $30.00. What upsets me is the fact that Mike has 10 employees
working on a 4 x 4 park (see posts)that is NOT bringing in any money to DP at this time. As a business owner i know you sometimes have to spend money to make
money but, has Mike forgotten about the people that have made DP what it is today? Like cycleguy200 i have also been riding at DP for a long time and have seen
many changes, it appears to me from the last two times rideing at DP that nothing has changed. DP is a cool place but, it is NOT the only one of it's kind
in Ga or the surrounding area. I dont know if SCTANK gets to ride for free or is trying to buddy up to Mike so he can but, he can't be riding the same
place we ALL are. I know Mike has a lot on his plate but, that is why he has EMPLOYEES to do the work, after all HE is paying them correct???
