Posts: 2 (04/12/08 17:48:49) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None Yesterday, I brought my 2006 King Quad 700 to explore what Durhamtown has to offer and put about 50 miles on it. Here's a brief run down of my 1st impressions: I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the trails are. With as many people as there were in attendance, I didn't notice any litter out in the woods. "Monster Mountain" made me literally laugh out loud, sorry. Although there were a handful of trails closed Friday the 11th, I was able to find a few trails geared more towards my liking, namely "M" and "I", I very much liked the steep-ish uphill/downhill sections of "I", Are there other hill climbs like these? "M" was a beautiful trail, I ran it 3 times, yet I never saw another person on it. How odd... Thinking back, I don't think I engaged my 4wd but once....to ford that swamp at the end of "I". With the exceptions of the mud-pits (which I avoid like the plague), I kinda got the impression that the quad trails were geared a little more towards the sport quad side of the ATV family. I'm not complaining, however. I very much enjoy a leisurely ride through the woods. Overall, I am pleased with Durhamtown and will definitely be returning to bring a group of friends (who own sport quads)

Posts: 2256 (04/15/08 19:02:23) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	we do have some more hills that will open in about 30 days along with some more mud in that area we are also working on the muds drag race pit about 1 week out then we also have a large mud area behind it that will be developed as soon as it dries enout to get equipment into the area and old dry creek bed we plan to flood below the race pit we plan to keep recycling the water into different situations and it gets pushed from one area to the next this rain has been really tough on us trying to make improvements hope to see you soon thanks mike

Posts: 635 (04/15/08 19:19:31) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hey Mike, Have you thought about changing "Monster Mountain" from a huge pile of dirt, into some kind of 4x4 skills course? Let's say, instead of up/down and up/down like it is now, cut a path starting at the bottom that meanders around 3/4ths of the sides, gradually climbing to the top, and contains obstacles along the way, such as a rock garden, a log hazard, a couple of short and steep steps, and maybe a tire obstacle or something of that nature to get some utility guys into 4wd and working for something.

The mountain just starts below ground level. For someone who doesn't "do" hills, Monster Mountain is nice because I know what's on the other side. It's a little confidence booster for me. Maybe a name change. I know my more experienced buddies said "That's it??" when they saw it. But...to a kid on a 50 or a newb like myself -- it is a mountain.

The dirt would prob be nice and stirred up after some bikes have ridden through there. Nothin like a lil mud here and there..
