I am a middle aged mom of two teenagers and have never been on a motorcycle much less riding a dirt bike. My younger son, 15 was born to ride and LOVES IT! To inspire him to do better in school we decided to get him a dirt bike and find a place for him to ride. In order for him to ride he needed adult supervision, so guess what - we turned it into a family thing.
My husband and I went on line to find a family oriented place to go, we found Durhamtown Plantation! We just got back from a four day excursion of dirt bike heaven. Great reviews all across the board! In spite of the fact that the gear I had purchased on line gave me the appearance that I was an experienced rider, I knew nothing but how to balance the bike. I was determined to learn and ride with my son and my husband. Thanks to the staff and other riders I managed to ride the beginners trails and ventured over to the family trail. It was fun and exciting. BUT, nothing could have prepared me for the Georgia MUD. I don't mind getting dirty but that was crazy. Never the less, I WILL OVERCOME THAT AS WELL.
We are already planning our next trip to come back. It wasn't just the trails, the staff and the food that will keep
Georgia and Durhamtown on our minds but the atmosphere as well.
Thanks to all of you that helped us at the plantation on 04/07/08 thru 04/10/08, you made our vacation the best.
