ROPING A DEER

I had this idea that I was going to rope a deer, put it in a stall, fatten

it up on corn for a couple of weeks, then kill it and eat it.

Ron has been out scouting almost every day and it looks like there will be an early rut this year

there are new scrape lines everywhere they are kept fresh with no leaves in them

this is the earliest I have ever seen

if you plan to hunt get here in the next 3 weeks

Ron has some good pictures of nice shooter rubbing his eye brows on a limb and 2 samll buck sparing

he move the camera today to a new scrape line

there have been more deer seen this year than in 12 yrs at dp over the past 2 years hunitng pressure has been at it's lowest it is showing this year more bucks and does are everywhere

I personally have seem more trophy bucks out traveling around the property than in 10 yrs

I've been pondering the idea of a total package. We already ride at DP several time per year. I've been deer hunting for over 20 yrs and have decided to let my current lease go.

Please email me the full details concerning the riding / hunting membership - more info is needed than is posted here on the website. Particularly the hunting rules, regs, "restrictions apply", etc.

we are starting to see alot of scrapes most were freshened up since the rain last night

we have seen some nice shooters this fall so far

looks like some good cold weather coming in this weekend
it should fire them up good for opening weekend

gun season starts this saturday

we have all of the plots in the Nature area planted and got a good rain on them already seeing some germinations in 4 days


we began today Tuesday across the river working on those food plots it will take approx 1 week to to do all of them if equipment holds up.....

we have the brush grinder going along with them enhancing shooting lanes and access lanes

we also are drainingg the kiddie pond behind the shooting range it has 20 yrs of silt in it and has shrunk to 1/2 its original size we will deepen it and enlarge it with a new road leading down to it

deer is a total of 3 bucks 6 does/ family and 3 hogs/family
duck -turkey - small game state limits

you may bring a guest for $50/day plus trophy fee of $200 no more than 3 days @ 2 visits/year

we have deer hog, turkey, duck, squirrel, rabbit, snipe....
